#12 Comment (Wed Mar 5, 6:21:17 EST 2008):
the recordings were lot a better than expected, although some did sound pretty shit, which i was
expecting anyway, i also really enjoyed the re-recorded version of the songs you did on the second
disc, was great actually being able to decipher the lyrics and hear the instruments. A couple of the
Orphans songs sounded very familiar as well, not sure where i may of heard them before though?
Possibly some bands in Perth playing covers of them? songs like 'oh baby' and 'heard
it on the radio', maybe just someone who's ripped you off and has got away with it? Cheers
Ross!

Great site! As allways we only get to see a partial story. It's great for Ross to fill in the
missing bits. I love the letters trying to remember who did/said what 30 years ago. More proof that
perth punk kicked arse.

Hi Ross: Cd's arrived safely a couple of days ago. Big thanks! Veed safely a couple of days
ago. Big thanks! Very enjoyable overall, except the rough sound quality, which is something that you
will probably get in every review. My favourite has to be the Geeks. The first song reminds me of
the Saints. And the other songs are all good. There's a definite Stooges influence in all 3
bands, not just in the Stooges covers. Hitler Youth seemed to not go past the formative stage, so
everything sounds really primitive, and some songs appear to be works-in-progress at the time of
recording. Orphans were more varied with post-punk influences creeping in. The fast stuff works
better, in my opinion. The bonus disc is nice too - you can hear the lyrics - saves you printing a
lyric sheet for the old versions. Hopefully, someone will turn up with tapes of the missing Geeks
songs after they find out about these releases. Also, you've got a good looking and informative
website for us who were not in Perth at that time. Cheers, Imants.

Hey, just wanted to add my two cents. IMO this is the best site of its kind on the net that I have
seen. Brilliant! Also, just received the CDs. How come nothing has been heard of these bands until
now? This stuff is classic early punk. Especially impressed with the Orphans Revisited CD. Rules.

Hi Phil. Thanks for letting us know about Rizzo. The only reason it is not included in James'
Bandography is that I didn't know of it, and James didn't tell me! Will check with him and
add it ASAP. Cheers
Ross

Hey, I was very intrigued by some of the comments surrounding the history between old friends and
their bands. At the end of the day it's a shame that it comes down to these kinds of scenarios.
One thing to add though, James played in a band in between The Tearjearks (which I also played in
for a short time)and The Blowup Dolls. The band was called Rizzo and although we didn't play
live, with James on board he certainly added plenty to the sound of the band. We liked a beer in
Rizzo and this could be why it hasn't been added into James' Bandography.
